This unit provides the principles and skills of web application development. It aims at providing both conceptual understanding and hand-on experiences for web design and programming technology and the skills for developing web oriented applications. Topics include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web services, ASP.NET using C#, and PhP in the context of web development practices.

One of my favourite units

I really liked that this was a hands-on & practical unit. Over the course of the unit, you build a large dynamic website using ASP.NET. At the time I took the unit, I found ASP.NET to be a very opaque system which was frustrating for me because I like to know exactly what is happening in a project. Now that I have more experience, I really appreciate how much heavy-lifting the ASP.NET framework does for you. Very relevant to the job market and for improving your software development skills. The lectures were ass though.
